Privacy Policy - Membero

Membero ("we", "our", or "the app") is a membership and loyalty card storage app developed by Tomas Srna. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Data Stored on Your Device
Membero stores your card data (card names, barcode data, barcode types, notes, and categories) locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is yours and stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync.

2. iCloud Sync
If you are signed into iCloud, Membero uses Apple CloudKit to sync your card data across your devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and is not accessible to us. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to this data. You can disable iCloud sync in your device's system settings.

3. Camera
Membero requests camera access to scan barcodes and QR codes. Camera data is processed on-device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings.

4. Analytics
Membero collects anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. Analytics data is collected through:

OpenPanel (self-hosted analytics)
Mixpanel (EU data residency)
The following types of events are tracked:

App opens
Card actions (viewed, created, edited, deleted, shared, scanned)
Search, sort, and filter usage
Onboarding completion
Each event may include the card category and barcode type, but never the card name, barcode content, notes, or any personal information.

The following global properties are sent with each event:

App version and build number
Environment name (e.g., Production)
Analytics data is not linked to your identity. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses for tracking, advertising identifiers, or any personally identifiable information.

5. Card Sharing
When you share a card, the card data (name, barcode data, barcode type, notes, and category) is sent to our sharing server at share.membero.app to generate a shareable link. Shared card data may be accessed by anyone with the link. You control when to share a card.

6. No Tracking
Membero does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), nor do we participate in any cross-app tracking.

7. Third-Party Services
Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for optional data sync. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Mixpanel — for anonymous analytics (EU data residency). Governed by Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
8. Data Retention
Your card data is stored locally and in your iCloud account. If you delete the app, local data is removed. iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud settings. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form and cannot be traced back to individual users.

9. Children's Privacy
Membero is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
